Still Life- Day 6

Today my life was anything but still, despite the kids going back to school.I found myself running around like a chicken with my head cut off.  Here, there, everywhere.  I suppose taking 2 weeks off along with my kids while they were home didn’t really aid my housekeeping tasks.

So… I found myself at the end of the day lacking a creative inspiration.  Did you know that dishes, dusting and laundry do not really spark the old artistic mojo?! Who knew? Right?!

I hopped over to my talented cousin’s blog and saw what she had prepared for day 6.  (She is the one who brought this round of the 30 day challenge to light for me!)  Then I hopped over to another great artistic site by Patricia Awapara.  I watched her go through the 30 day challenge last year and it was awesome to watch her progress.

With those awesome ladies as inspiration, I set out to do a still life/nature sort of image.  It has been a long time since I attempted anything in the realistic sort of realm.

Anyway, since it is so frigid outside… it had to be some flowers.  I busted out my new inks, some light modeling paste and went to town.  Hope you like it!

    • Thanks Kathy! I love to mix a little of this with a little of that paint wise. This has white, pink, green blue and black… Each mixed a bit into each other at some point. I swear mixing color is a big reason I like painting 🙂

  1. This is a great piece in contrast to the cold weather! It is lovely. Congratulations for getting into the challenge. I am sure you will do great. Just take it one day at a time. Happy painting and Thanks for the mention by the way. 😀

    • You are very welcome! I watched you blossom into your style in 30 days and it was great incentive to give it a try… so for that I thank YOU!

  2. Kim, love all the work that you have done (especially with alcohol!). Kathy gave me this blog site and I am truly impressed. My Kim also mentioned that you are selling your work on Esty. Good luck and looking forward to seeing you at some point in the future. Your cousin, Dick.

    • Thank you so much for stopping by! It has been so fun to play with different stuff… I love learning new things! I am selling some things on Etsy, but let me tell you, its scary! lol. I appreciate your kind words and hope to see you soon too! Been too long 🙂
