MYOM: Using stencils with texture

One of the things I like about mixed media is that it helps me to embrace the imperfect in my creations.

Whether it’s an imperfect stamped image or a wrinkle in a collages background, it all has a place. That’s one of the things I struggled with when watercolor painting and oil painting and goodness knows it stopped me in sketching at all. Now, as create, I love to see and feel the texture of the things I create with. The technique I will show you in the video today creates lots of yummy texture while keeping some order. It uses modeling paste, acrylic paint, stencils and some of the texture makers featured in previous videos. Hopefully the video will help you to embrace some of the imperfect wrinkles and bumps in your creative life too.

I would love to see what you create so share a link!

Thanks for watching! Happy creating!
